I have been saddened to hear the news of the earthquake in south west China. On behalf of the staff and students of the University of Salford I wish to extend my sincere condolences to those Chinese citizens who have lost loved ones and to those who are awaiting news of friends and family.
The University has been working to develop links between Salford and Chengdu, so we are fortunate to have many friends and partners in the region. Our thoughts are with them and with all our Chinese friends at this time.

I was reading in the newspaper, watching the news from TV programmes with sadness since May 12 about the terrible tragedy happening in China Sichuan. I hope that your family and friends in the affected areas are safe. Our thoughts are with the people of China.

I'm so glad to hear that you are all fine, I tried to contact you and some of your staffs but can't through until I contacted with Liu Wen.
We all tried to contribute what we could do in our places, I believe that we will unite and re-build their homes again for those who suffered in this desaster.

The Australia Government and the NSW Government are in the process of providing relief assistance. About the details, please see the attached letter and let us know if any student is required a later enrolment due to earthquake.
